Documentary photographer, David Ofori Zapparoli, reveals a primarily joyous approach to life in this personal collection of images that shares his perspectives of human celebration, ceremony, the environment, belonging, how we travel, and self expression. This genre, more commonly known as street photography, allowed him to approach each subject free of the editorial restrictions than one might encounter with a journalistic approach. Though several parts of the world are represented, the majority of images feature his home town of Toronto.

Accompanying the dozens of photographs, Zapparoli takes the time to provide relevant notes about each one. In addition, poems by Edmonton poet, Alexander Fwallah are positioned along side several images. Zapparoli’s work is in the collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Art Gallery of Alberta, the Toronto Archives as well as numerous private collections, including the estate of Nelson Mandela. More of his work can be seen at www.dozpics.ca
