George Hope is an Inuit from the Nunatsiavut region of Labrador. He creates jewellery inspired by his aboriginal heritage. This creation is an acknowledgement and celebration of his family and community.
The polar bear is one of the shaman protector spirits. The shaman, playing drums and dancing, calls the bear spirit. The dancing bear represents this precise moment when the shaman and the bear, their spirits and their bodies, merge together.
